I Break The Waves is a collaboration between Maarten van der Vleuten and Joost Verhagen, lead-singer of Dutch art-rock/jazz/folk-rock band Grey Lotus.
This E.P. features the Original Vocal and the Instrumental Version, plus 2 remixes.
The Somfay Remix was done by Jesse Somfay and the MvdV Remix by Maarten van der Vleuten.

At KUNSTNACHT 2017 > september 30, 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands < Maarten van der Vleuten will be playing in Het Noordbrabants Museum from 22:00 - 00:00 hrs.

The musical theme of the event is the 80's, since they currently run an exhibition about 80's culture and everything related. Detailed information about the exhibition can be found here (dutch only): "De Jaren 80 - Doemdenkers en positivo's". Maarten will play his personal favourites from that era, so it will be quite eclectic. Expect New Wave, Electro, EBM, Glam, Experimental, Synth-Pop and maybe also some Post-Punk. Vinyl only !

Maarten is currently working on new material and he's stepping out of his comfort zone.

Maarten will play an 80's New Wave DJ set on may 13, 2017, at Hall Of Fame (Tilburg, The Netherlands). Hosted by Bob Soundsystem. .

The 90 minute set (vinyl only) will feature a selection of his personal favourites from the 80's. (New Wave/Dark Wave/ Cold Wave/NDW/experimental and more..)

.On april 22, Record Store Day (2017), Dutch band Grey Lotus will release their Live album ACACIA (limited edition, white & gold marbled vinyl) and it will feature a compostion by Maarten van der Vleuten. The song I Break The Waves was composed by Maarten and the lyrics were written by Grey Lotus' bandmember Joost Verhagen.

Maarten will play several short DJ sets in between live performances by Dorian Concept, Kettel, Aart Strootman, The Void*, Sum and Temko, during the 8 hour ambient marathon at the FAQ Festival, april 8th 2017, in 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.
